The mission of VGH UBC Hospital Foundation is to harness the power of philanthropy to significantly improve specialized health care and research for British Columbians.

During the inaugural De Beers Time to Shine Gala, more than $1.3 million was raised benefitting VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. The money helps fund a state-of-the-art computerized tomography (CT) scanner for the Emergency Department at Vancouver General Hospital. This vital equipment is one of the most important non-invasive diagnostic tools to help physicians isolate problem areas and to make quick decisions on how to best treat patients.

The Time to Shine Gala is the Foundation’s first Asia Pacific event, and drew together over 400 community leaders at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver. DCD worked closely with the organizing committee and staff at the foundation to establish its brand and set direction for the event.
